Japan Day in Szombathely
Since February 2025, Takashi has been involved in supervising the construction work of a Japanese garden project in Szombathely, Hungary. He was invited to give a lecture on Japanese gardens at the “Japan Day” cultural event, which was held for the 17th time today on 4th October.
Titled “Simple Ideas for a Japanese-style Garden”, Takashi gave a talk for about 30 minutes with a Hungarian interpreter. He explained what people could do to make their own gardens at home feel more like a Japanese garden, including a short quiz and points to be mindful of.
“It seemed that there were moments of surprise and new discoveries, and I hope the audience enjoyed it,” Takashi explained. Although it was only a brief talk, he would be delighted if some of the ideas could be useful for their gardening. "And once the Japanese garden in Szombathely is completed, I truly hope they will come and visit.”
